Orum International Srl is an Italian company that develops air samplers for detection of microbial contamination and air quality testing. Orum has several models to cover different needs in term of investment and application: MINI, MONO, DUO, TRIO, ISOLATOR.

TRIO.BAS MINI A basic model for customers that have a limited budget or have very few tests per week and do not need data transfer – all the data are manually registered.

TRIO.BAS MINI Bluetooth model is for customers that intend to transfer the collected data to a PC via Bluetooth. Typical customers are food, dairy, beverage, environmental, hospital, etc.

TRIO.BAS MONO This model is for customers that need more parameters (e.g. use of barcode, cascade passwords, on-site calibration, etc.). The typical customer is the pharma or biotechnology.

TRIO.BAS DUO or TRIO These models are for customers that intend to save the operator’s time and have a high number of test per day and applies the US PDA Pharmacopeial requests. The typical customer is the pharma.

TRIO.BAS ISOLATOR A model for customers that need sterile filling operation in isolators.

Detection and enumeration of Bacteria, Yeasts and Molds or pathogens on surfaces

  • TRIO.CPS (Contact Plate Sampler) is used in the cleanroom of pharma, biotech plants and healthcare facilities to standardise the surface monitoring by using the traditional irradiated culture media
  • TRIO.CPS is used in combination with the most commercial contact plate (e.g. RODAC) diameter 55 mm. The 10 seconds timer with visual display guarantees to meet the ISO 18593 for horizontal surface sampling.
  • The results are comparable with different operators.
  • The metal base guarantee an easy starilization / disinfection.
  • The CFU are counted at the end of incubation and the results are reported as CFU/cm2 or CFU/culture plate.
  • The used media are for Total Bacterial Count (e.g. Trypticase Soy Agar with Lecithin and Polysorbate 80) and Total Yeast and Molds Count (e.g. Sabouraud Glucose Agar with Lecithin and Polysorbate 80).

The metal aspirating head are made in polished AISI 316 stainless steel. They are physically and individually tested and have an identification number according GLP and GMP.

•   An important Characteristic is the light weight that give to the air sampler a good handling and easy manipulation for the operator.

•   The bayonet type closure simplifies the application to the aspirating chamber of the sampler and avoids the production of particulates.

•  The head has 221 calibrated holes - 1mm diameter.

•  Each microbial air sampling cycle, or group of sampling in the same controlled environment, with an active air sampler, requests the use of a sterile aspiration head.

•   Each metal aspiration head should be therefore sterilized by autoclaving with subsequent filling of a sterilization document, as requested by regulatory inspectors.

This process of sterilization should be avoided adopting the sterile “DAILY SHIFT” antistatic resin plastic head that are double packed and complete of officiall certificate of sterilization by irradiation.

DESCRIPTION

  • The SELFTEST is a system that, instead of the auto calibration already present in the air sampler, checks the precision of the air flow rate. This check is necessary to avoid invalidation of the tests between annual controls for official certification.

  • The bell chamber is connected through a tube to the base station induction battery charger.
    .
  • Main customers are GLP/GMP for pharmaceutical, cleanroom and biotech industries.

  • The base station includes the power supply for charging the TRIO.BAS air sampler batterier.
    .
  • SELFTEST is only suitable for air samplers with induction chargers.
    .
  • This system works by measuring the depression generated by the air sampler while air is aspirated through a special lid (aspirating bell) applied to the aspirating head. A differential pressure sensor measures that depression and compares it with the set value stored in the TRIO.BAS sampler under test. The result appears at the end of the test, on the LDC of the TRIO.BAS™ air sampler. Results are displayed as: OK (the air sampler is calibrated), WARNING or ERROR (the air sampler is not within calibration specifics).

  • The result is recorded automatically into the air sampler according to data integrity.

The Base Station Induction Battery Charger with User Selftest is equipped with a system that allows, regardless of auto- calibration already present in the instrument, to be able to check the state of recision of the air flow.
