Indutrade has signed an agreement to acquire all shares in the Swedish company Miclev Medical Products AB,　www.miclev.se/en, with annual sales of approximately SEK 130 million.

Miclev is a technical trading company specialised in high-quality products for detecting, identifying, eliminating, and protecting against microorganisms. The product offering includes culture media, diagnostic products, and consumables for safe microbiological processes in sterile cleanroom environments with high quality requirements, for the Nordic pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Miclev was founded in 1996, has 12 employees and is located in Malmö, Sweden.

"Miclev is a great addition to our group of life science companies. They have a strong product offering and high level of customer service, which in combination with very deep technical expertise and underlying market growth paves the way for continued sustainable, profitable growth", said Bo Annvik, President and CEO of Indutrade.

The closing takes place today and Miclev will be included in Indutrade's Business Area Life Science. The acquisition is Indutrade's twelfth in 2024 and is expected to have a marginally positive impact on Indutrade's earnings per share.

The revision of the EU GMP Annex 1 for the manufacturing of sterile products was published and will be effective on the 25th of August, 2023. It requires that manufacturers of sterile products will apply the principles of Quality Risk Management (QRM) to the design and control of facilities, equipment (such as cleanroom garments), systems and procedures used for the manufacture of all sterile products.

Since operators represent the highest contamination risk inside pharmaceutical cleanrooms, the cleanroom garment systems are a critical part of the contamination control strategy. The new EU GMP Annex 1 is asking for a proactive, wholistic, risk-based and data-driven process validation.

Vitassay SARS-CoV-2 is a rapid, immunochromatographic, one step assay for the qualitative detection of nucleoprotein antigen of SARS-CoV-2 from nasopharyngeal swab samples from patients suspected of COVID-19 infection. Over the next few months, LYFO DISK™, Epower™, EZ-FPC™, EZ-SPORE™ and Parasite Suspension products from Microbiologics® will be transitioning to a more secure screw-top plastic canister for their outer packaging.

The new canisters provide better durability for shipping versus the previous flip-top containers. Each product’s respective inner packaging, labelling and contents will remain unchanged.

Microbiologics® will gradually transition to the improved packaging as current inventory of each product is depleted and new lots are manufactured. During the conversion, you may receive product in either the previous or new packaging.
