Intended use: A general purpose nutritious broth capable of growing a wide range of bacteria and fungi. The single strength medium is recommended by the USP and EP for the sterility testing of pharmaceutical products.

Interpretation: After 1:4 dilution, growth in the medium is indicated by turbidity compared to an uninoculated control. Subculture to appropriate media for identification.
