Intended use: A chromogenic medium for the isolation and differentiation of Staphylococcus.
Typical formula (g/l)*: Agar 15.0; Peptone and yeast extract 40.0; Salts 30.0; Chromogenic and selective mix 2.4
Interpretation: S. aureus colonies are pink to mauve, S. epidermidis colonies are colourless to pinkish, S. saprophyticus colonies are turquoise, other staphylococci have various colours, streptococci and gram negative bacteria are inhibited.
