Intended useA general purpose nutritious broth capable of growing a wide range of bacteria and fungi. This medium is recommended by the USP and EP for the sterility testing of pharmaceutical products. When the amount of air in the bottle is smaller than the amount of medium and the bottles are used for direct inoculation through the septum, it might be necessary to add oxygen. Due to the high carbohydrate level of TSB, the oxygen level will decrease in time.
