Intended use: A chromogenic medium for the detection and isolation of Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Vibrio vulnificus and Vibrio cholerae.
Typical formula (g/l)*: Peptone and yeast extract 8.0; Salts 51.4; Chromogenic mix 0.3; Agar 15.0
Interpretation: V. parahaemolyticus: mauve colonies. V. vulnificus and V. cholerae: green blue to turquoise blue colonies. V. alginolyticus: colourless colonies. Final identification must be done by complementary tests.
